How do you tow a tiny home? FAQ

In News, Tiny House Articles, Tiny Houses, Videos

Some of the most common questions people ask once they see our homes and especially the Denali is “How do you tow it?” “Do you need a semi?” “How much does it weigh?” The Denali  (our largest model) weighs about 19k-21k lbs depending on size and features. It is a big home and quite a substantial load to move. However it tows properly with a one ton pickup. We don’t recommend anything less for safe towing. We personally use a Ford F450 for all our towing and usually when problems occur (such as the tragedy pictured above) it is usually because of a number of things including too small of truck, inexperience, inadequate brakes, or road conditions. Are these homes meant to travel in like campers and/or RVs? My husband and I are interested in traveling when we retire and very much want to purchase the Denali.

Does this use the standard ball hitch, or, will I have to have a special receiver installed on the bed of my truck?

There are two styles, the bumper pull which takes a standard 2 5/16″ ball and then the gooseneck.
